Privacy Policy
Last updated: March 18, 2026
Gramify ("we", "our", or "us") respects your privacy and is committed to protecting your information. This Privacy Policy explains how the Gramify mobile application collects, uses, transmits, and handles data when you use the app.
1. Information We Process
Depending on how you use the app, Gramify may process the following categories of data:
- Images you capture with the camera or select from your photo library
- Technical metadata related to your request, such as image type, file size, scan mode, selected AI provider, model identifier, and request timestamps
- Network and security data, such as IP address and request headers, for rate limiting, abuse prevention, and service protection
- Purchase and subscription status information made available through app store billing services
- Limited local app state, such as whether the paywall has already been completed on the device
2. Camera and Photo Library Access
Gramify may request access to:
- Your device camera, so you can capture images inside the app
- Your photo library or media images, so you can select existing images for analysis
The app only accesses images after a user action. Gramify does not take photos or access your library in the background without your interaction.
3. How Images Are Used
When you use an analysis feature, the image you capture or upload is sent to our backend service for processing. Our backend may then process the request directly or forward the image and related request data to third-party AI service providers used to generate analysis results.
These providers may include:
- OpenAI
- Anthropic
- Google Gemini
- Other infrastructure or AI providers configured to process requests for the app
Images are used to provide the requested app functionality, such as estimation, classification, identification, counting, or similar analysis features.
4. Data Transmission
When you use image analysis features, the following data may be transmitted:
- The uploaded or captured image
- Technical metadata needed to process the request
- Security-related request data used to protect and operate the service
We use reasonable technical measures to protect transmitted data. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
5. Data Storage and Retention
On our own backend, images are intended to be processed transiently and are not intended to be stored permanently as part of a long-term image database.
However:
- Images may temporarily exist in memory or short-term processing systems while a request is being handled
- Technical logs and service metadata may be retained for operational, debugging, abuse-prevention, or security purposes
- Third-party AI or infrastructure providers may process and retain data according to their own terms, privacy policies, and retention practices
- Images selected or captured by the user may remain on the user's own device, and the app may display local image paths in the in-app history view
If you want to make stronger claims about deletion windows, retention periods, or provider-specific deletion behavior, those claims should only be made once they are technically enforced and contractually confirmed.
6. Personal Data
We do not intentionally request direct personal identifiers such as your name, postal address, or phone number in order to use the core image analysis features.
That said, some data processed by the service may still be considered personal data under applicable law, including:
- IP address
- Device- or request-related technical data
- Images uploaded by users if they contain identifiable content
- Store-related purchase or subscription information made available by platform billing services
7. Local Device Data
Gramify may store limited information locally on your device, such as:
- A flag indicating whether a paywall or onboarding step has been completed
- Temporary references to images used in the current app session
- In-app history displayed from the current runtime session
We do not currently see evidence in this codebase of a dedicated long-term database of user-uploaded images maintained by the app itself.
8. Purchases and Billing
If you use paid features, subscription and purchase flows may be handled by platform providers such as Google Play. In that case, purchase, subscription, and restoration data may be processed by the relevant app store provider under that provider's own terms and privacy practices.
9. Data Sharing
We do not sell or rent your personal information.
We may share data with:
- Hosting and infrastructure providers
- AI model and inference providers
- Platform billing providers
- Service providers that support app functionality, security, analytics, or operations
Data is shared only as reasonably necessary to operate, secure, and improve the app and its features.
10. Children's Privacy
Gramify is not directed to children under the age of 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact us so we can review the situation.
11. International Processing
Because third-party infrastructure and AI providers may operate in different countries, your data may be processed outside your country or region of residence.
12. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will post the updated version and revise the "Last updated" date.
